Load capacity: important for safe loading and transport
You can tell whether a Jungheinrich pallet truck is suitable for lifting and transporting loads in your company by taking note of the load capacity indicated on the truck: this indicates the maximum load up to which the industrial truck may be loaded. Depending on the model and design, this can be up to 3000kg. To ensure you buy the right pallet jack, base your selection on the average weight of the loads to be transported regularly. If possible, also take peak loads into account – this way you can use the truck in a particularly flexible way if you need to. To ensure that an industrial truck is not overloaded, many of our models have an overload protection feature.
With Jungheinrich stacker trucks, a distinction is made between nominal load capacity and actual load capacity, depending on the lifting height. However, this does not need to be taken into account with pallet trucks, as long as the load centre distance is noted and the load is evenly distributed. An exception to this can be our Jungheinrich pallet truck models with extra-long forks.

Intensity of use: how powerful should your Jungheinrich pallet truck be?
Depending on the model, the scope of performance of our Jungheinrich models determines

The maximum operating time is particularly decisive for our electric models. Depending on the design and battery type, the trucks are suitable for single-shift or two-shift operation:

With Jungheinrich hand pallet trucks, the possible intensity of use is determined by the hydraulics or the installed hydraulic pump. Depending on the design and construction materials, the pump reaches a certain maximum number of lifting cycles before it shows wear. Depending on the model, between 3,500 (BASIC models from Jungheinrich) and 10,000 lifting cycles (with optimised Jungheinrich hydraulic system) are possible. In addition, the intensity of use is determined by the robustness and workmanship of the materials and components used.

When choosing the right tyres, you should also consider the function of the individual wheel types:
- Jungheinrich hand pallet trucks are usually equipped with two steering wheels and at least two fork rollers.
- Electrically powered Jungheinrich pallet trucks have a 3-, 4- or 5-point chassis depending on the model. These can also have a drive wheel, support wheels and fork rollers.
For particularly high loads, fork wheels are also available as tandem models. The double castors distribute the weight better, which is why they are particularly suitable for use on uneven ground, transporting loads over speed humps and similar obstacles. They also ensure smooth running and additional stability when moving loads and reduce wear on the single wheels. In general, the following applies to all Jungheinrich models: smooth-running wheels and rollers ensure effort-saving use, while run-in rollers in the fork tip make it easier to enter and exit the pallet.

Jungheinrich hand pallet trucks
The basic technical principle of our Jungheinrich pallet jacks with a hand-hydraulic lift function has been around since 1929. These versatile industrial trucks, designed for the horizontal transport of pallets, transport boxes and wire mesh boxes, have added many functions in the meantime and are still among the transport classics in warehouses, logistics and trade. No wonder: Jungheinrich hand pallet trucks are easy to operate and uncomplicated in function, operation and maintenance.
The basic principle of their operation has always remained unchanged despite many innovations: hand pallet trucks consist of a fork with two prongs responsible for picking up a load and a steering tiller, with which the truck is manually steered and moved over short distances. Pumping the tiller several times activates the hydraulic pump and causes the fork to be lifted until the ground clearance necessary for transporting the load is reached. The load can be lowered again via a lever on the handle, which releases the hydraulic pump and lowers the fork back to ground level. Integrated wheels allow the pallet truck to be pulled or pushed as well as turned on the spot.

As special models among the manual hand pallet truck range, we also stock Jungheinrich flat pallet trucks. These models, also known as low-profile pallet trucks, make it possible to pick up special or customised pallets, non-standardised Euro pallets or one-way pallets close to the floor. These trucks have a particularly low entry height of approx. 51mm and a low fork height, which allow loads to be lifted and moved almost at floor level.
Please note: Due to the low entry height, Jungheinrich flat pallet trucks only have a very low ground clearance. The subfloors in your operating areas should therefore be level. The trucks cannot be used on ramps.
Jungheinrich electric pallet trucks
Electric pallet trucks from Jungheinrich are equipped with one or two electric motors, depending on the model. This allows loads to be lifted, transported and lowered faster and with less effort. Control is via the multifunction tiller head. A particularly compact design also enables manoeuvring in the smallest of spaces and is facilitated by the optional crawl speed button. Thanks to the electric drive, our electrically powered Jungheinrich pallet trucks can be moved more precisely and sensitively than manual industrial trucks.
You can buy electrically powered Jungheinrich pallet trucks from us as fully electric models: in this case, both the lifting and driving as well as the lowering functions are operated by an electric motor.
Depending on the model series, the truck motors are powered by a robust lead-gel or powerful lead-acid battery or are available as long-life Jungheinrich lithium-ion pallet trucks.
Jungheinrich electric low-platform trucks: strong support for warehousing and logistics
Our powerful and robust electric pallet trucks from Jungheinrich with all-electric operation are available as variants for both towbar-guided pedestrian operation and, on request, pedestrian operation with side seat or operator ride-on platform. Depending on the model series, you can use the Jungheinrich pallet truck for both light indoor applications and for demanding indoor and outdoor applications. Many models can also be used for truck-mounted applications.

Depending on the model, Jungheinrich Performance Series pallet trucks are available with a drive via a DC or three-phase motor and are powered either by powerful lead-acid, maintenance-free lead-gel batteries or innovative lithium-ion batteries. The industrial trucks are "refuelled" by charging the battery with a battery charger. Usually, all vehicles are equipped with an integrated charger for this purpose: this allows the battery to be charged at any 230 V socket. Depending on the battery type, certain specifications must be observed during the charging process. These are usually listed in the Jungheinrich pallet jack service manual of the individual vehicle.
Ergonomic and versatile: scissor lift trucks from Jungheinrich
Our scissor lift trucks combine the function of a lift truck with that of a mobile work table. The scissor mechanism allows the load to be lifted to a height of approx. 800mm: this makes it possible to work with goods or merchandise in a way that is back friendly. Jungheinrich scissor lift pallet trucks also make it easier to transfer goods from the raised forks to a workbench or production line. Stainless steel pallet trucks from Jungheinrich
Our stainless steel Jungheinrich pallet trucks are particularly durable, corrosion-resistant and insensitive to moisture, acids, alkalis or aggressive gases. We offer models made of resistant plain steel with hot-dip galvanising (electroplating) as well as pure stainless steel. Jungheinrich pallet trucks with weigh scales combine the functions of weighing and transporting in one device. The scales integrated into the industrial truck are also suitable for determining and checking the shipping weight of goods and merchandise. Depending on the model, these Jungheinrich pallet jacks feature scales with 1-5kg display increments or precision scales with multiple weighing cells that can determine weights with an accuracy of 0.1-0.5% deviation. The scales are equipped with practical functions such as tare input, zero correction, the possibility to add a sequence number and other similar functions, depending on the model.

4. FAQ for Jungheinrich pallet trucks
Ideally, you should use the oil types recommended in the service manual that comes with your Jungheinrich pallet jack. In most cases, these are the hydraulic oils HLP32 or HLP46. Both are characterized by a high performance level, good viscosity-temperature behaviour, reliable corrosion protection and a long service life.
Pallet truck hydraulic oil must be changed regularly, otherwise impurities can affect oil pressure and the overall performance of the equipment, causing the truck to react slowly or imprecisely.
Both electric and hand pallet trucks from Jungheinrich must be inspected at least once a year. For some models, this is a legal requirement that must be carried out in accordance with LOLER (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations) and be inspected under PUWER (Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations). A short operational test must also be carried out every day. This includes:
- a visual inspection for externally visible damage or leaks
- drive and braking test
- checking the hydraulics and oil level
- observation of driving behaviour, especially during cornering and turning manoeuvres
To ensure that both manual and electric models can be used safely and efficiently, regular maintenance should be carried out on the pallet truck, regardless of model type. This should only be carried out by appropriately qualified and authorised personnel. In most cases, these are trained employees, however external specialists from outside the company can also be brought in to check the equipment for defects that could endanger occupational safety.
