Models with lead-acid batteries require a charging station and regular refilling with demineralised water (wet cell batteries need periodic maintenance) |
We have these models available as Ameise® electric pallet trucks and Jungheinrich electric pallet trucks.
Much like with hand pallet trucks, the centre of gravity of an electric pallet jack is in the middle of the wheelbase. This means that these industrial trucks do not need a counterweight. Electric powered pallet trucks are also narrower than other trucks, making them ideal for confined spaces.
At Jungheinrich PROFISHOP, electric pallet lift trucks are available with either a DC or a three-phase motor drive. They’re powered by one of three battery types: lead-acid batteries, maintenance-free lead-gel batteries, or innovative lithium-ion batteries.
Many models – such as our efficient lithium-ion pallet trucks or our lead-acid battery-powered electric pallet trucks – include an integrated charger for convenient battery charging. For operations with regular lifting and transport work, purchasing a spare battery will be highly beneficial. This allows one battery to remain in operation while the other is charging externally.
To ensure safe operation, our electric pallet trucks include the following safety features, depending on the specific version:
- long, low-set towbar ensures a safe distance between the operator and vehicle
- a steel drive wheel cover protects against foot injuries
- drive-up safety button
- emergency stop button
- crawl speed button for safe manoeuvring of the vehicle with the tiller raised in the tightest spaces

Electric hand pallet trucks
Electric hand pallet trucks with fully electric equipment are your reliable entry-level models for pedestrian operation. They’re suitable for light-duty use over short distances and can be used either exclusively indoors or both indoors and outdoors in dry conditions, depending on the model. Compared to manual hand pallet trucks, these electric models offer significant ergonomic and efficiency benefits. Thanks to lithium-ion technology, they are almost as light and just as manoeuvrable as manual hand pallet trucks.
The key advantage is effortless operation – due to their electric drive, you don’t have to exert any muscle power to manoeuvre these trucks, you simply use the multifunction tiller handle to activate the drive and lift functions. The electric motor handles lifting, while lowering can be either electric or manual-hydraulic, depending on the model.
Some models offered at Jungheinrich PROFISHOP have an LC display that shows the most essential information, such as battery charge level, operating hours, and the crawl speed mode status.
Electric pallet jack
Our powered pump trucks with fully electric operation are available in two configurations: tiller-guided pedestrian operation and rider operation with side seat or driver's stand-on platform (available on request). Depending on the model, these premium trucks are suitable for light indoor applications and for more demanding indoor and outdoor applications. Most models can also be transported in trucks.
Electric pallet trucks feature a 5-point chassis to ensure for maximum driving and cornering stability. The centrally positioned drive wheel sits under the handle, while side-mounted support rollers prevent the truck from rocking on uneven ground.
Compared to our electric hand pallet trucks, the all-electric trucks are more robust and powerful.
You can also get two special versions of the electric pallet trucks from us via a customer service request.

3. How to find the correct electric pallet truck
Electric pallet trucks are extremely versatile. Depending on the model, they can be used as industrial trucks in storage and sales rooms, for loading and unloading trucks, and for goods delivery right to the front door. The following questions will help you run a benefit and function analysis and find the right type of electric pallet truck to buy for your needs:

- Where will you use the electrically powered pallet truck?
- Is a semi-electric pallet truck or fully electric model required?
- What is the maximum load weight to be carried?
- What fork length and width are required?
- With what intensity will you use your electric powered pallet truck?
- Will you cover long distances with the truck and do you therefore need a model with passenger operation?
- Which tyre configuration is suitable for the surfaces that you will be traversing?
- Are special functions like battery change systems, creep speed buttons, CurveCONTROL, ProTracLink, integrated weighing system or PIN code access needed to work more efficiently?
4. Consider the place of use
At Jungheinrich PROFISHOP we stock electric pallet jacks designed for various applications and environments:

5. Determine the drive
Our electric pedestrian pallet trucks are fully electric and can lift and move loads without the need for physical exertion at the touch of a button. The electric lift motor moves the fork tines up and down - no muscle power needed. This makes these models ideal for power-saving and ergonomic load handling, short distances and frequent use (depending on model).
The drive motors on the fully electric pallet trucks can be divided into two types:
Motor Type | Advantages | Disadvantages |
---|---|---|
DC motor
|
|
|
Three-phase motor
|
|
|
Good to know: Jungheinrich electric pallet trucks feature regenerative braking that recovers energy during operation. This efficient energy management ensures longer battery operating time.
6. Buy electric pallet trucks with sufficient load capacity

The maximum load that an electric pallet truck can transport plays an important role in a purchase decision. Consider both the average weight of the loads to be transported regularly, as well as expected peak loads when selecting your model.
You can tell whether the model is suitable for your typical loads by the load capacity or rated load (for electric pallet trucks) of the device. Our electric pallet trucks handle loads up to 2000 kg. For heavy-duty transport, we also offer models with a maximum rated load of 3500 kg on request. To prevent the electric pallet trucks from being overloaded, many of our models have an overload protection. Many models include overload protection to prevent unsafe operation.
7. Fork lengths and widths that suit your goods
Electrically powered pump trucks can be used to pick up and transport palletised goods, wire mesh boxes and other loads that contain suitable entry pockets for forks. Choose an industrial truck with the appropriate fork lengths and fork widths depending on the types of loads that require transporting. You will find the following designs in our range:

9. Intensity of use

Choose an electric pallet truck that matches your planned usage intensity – how often, how long and how demanding your operations are. For multi-shift operation, an electric tiller pallet truck battery type is less important than battery capacity and motor performance. The key factors to keep in mind are whether the battery capacity is designed for extended use and whether the lift and drive motors are suitable for intensive operation.
The following describes the time span over which an electric pallet truck can be used in single, double or triple shift operation:
- One-shift operation: corresponds to a light intensity of use approx. 500 to 1,000 operating hours per year.
- Two-shift operation: corresponds to a medium operating intensity of use of approx. 1,000 to 1,700 operating hours per year.
- Three-shift operation: corresponds to an intensive intensity of use of more than 1,700 operating hours per year.
The Jungheinrich Professional series electric pallet trucks are the only ones designed for multi-shift operation.
10. Select tyre configurations and rollers that suit your work surface

Depending on the model, electric lift trucks have a 3, 4 or 5-point chassis, which (depending on the design) has a drive wheel, support wheels, and fork rollers. For particularly high loads, the fork rollers are also offered in a tandem version.
Double castors distribute the weight more effectively, making them particularly suitable for use on uneven ground and when negotiating speed humps. This improves stability when moving loads and reduces wear on the individual castors. Smooth-running wheels and rollers reduce operating effort, while run-in rollers in the fork tip also make pallet insertion and removal easier.
To ensure that the wheels for your electric pallet truck match the planned transport tasks and surfaces in your company, you can get the relevant castors and wheels for pallet trucks directly from us. Here, you will find suitable fork and swivel castors as well as replacement wheels for electric pallet trucks made from the following materials:

11. Passenger or ride-on model
Our electric pallet trucks are available in pedestrian, rider and combination models. Choose your model based on the average distance you need to cover in your warehouse or production areas:
- Pedestrian operation: These electric pallet jacks are operated with a tiller, which means that the operator walks alongside or behind the truck to control it. The tiller is long and low-set, which ensures that there is sufficient safety distance between the vehicle frame and the operator. Steering is controlled by swivelling the tiller, which moves the drive wheel in the desired direction of travel. Pedestrian models are ideal for use on shorter transport routes.
- Ride-on operation: In contrast, ride-on models allow you to ride on a permanently integrated driver's stand or driver's seat. This allows you to handle goods transport on long transport routes without fatigue. These models are equipped with a short tiller. Electric pallet trucks in rider operation are available on request.
- Combined pedestrian or rider operation: These pallet trucks have a short tiller. All steering and operating functions are performed either alongside or riding on, thanks to the foldable driver's platform. These models are available on request.
Please note: A driving licence is not required for an electric pallet truck in the UK. Drivers must however have undergone extensive training to maintain workplace safety standards.
12. FAQ for electric pallet trucks
Any electric pallet trucks that lift goods to a height of 300mm or more are subject to annual inspections. This is a legal requirement directed by the Health & Safety Executive. A short operational test must also be carried out every day. This includes:
