How to find the right sweeper scrubber
When it comes to professionally cleaning commercial buildings, industrial halls and other large areas, a sweeper scrubber is an indispensable tool. This machine combines the functionality of both sweepers and scrubber dryers, offering numerous benefits. With a sweeper scrubber, you complete sweeping and scrubbing in a single pass, quickly and efficiently removing dirt, dust and liquids from large indoor and outdoor floor areas. This reduces cleaning time and operating costs, eliminating the need for multiple cleaning machines. At Jungheinrich PROFISHOP, you'll find sweeper scrubbers from leading manufacturers with different working widths and practical features such as flexible squeegees, direct throw systems and filter shakers.
1. Choosing a sweeper scrubber by sweeping system
The sweeper scrubbers at Jungheinrich PROFISHOP use one of two sweeping systems: the dustpan principle or the direct sweeping system. Both systems pick up dirt and transport it to a collection container, but they differ in their mechanics and applications:
| Dustpan principle | Direct sweeping system | |
|---|---|---|
These models pick up dirt with a movable scoop located at the bottom of the machine. The scoop pushes the dirt forward and then lifts it into the collection container. This robust system is ideal for large particles and stubborn debris, as well as for cleaning dust. |
These models use a rotating main sweeping roller to pick up dirt and transport it into a collection container, usually located in front of the sweeping roller. A sweeper scrubber with this system can pick up various types of dirt, making it suitable for a wide range of cleaning tasks. |
Sweeper scrubbers don’t use the overhead sweep principle, as combined machines always sweep first, then scrub and vacuum. Overhead sweeping transports debris backwards, meaning that it would obstruct the scrubbing system. The overhead sweep system is, however, built into versions of our manual sweepers and ride-on sweepers.
2. Drive type and performance of the sweeper scrubber
At Jungheinrich PROFISHOP, we offer combined cleaning machines that are either battery-powered or have a combustion engine drive. Choosing the correct drive type is important, because it impacts where you can use your industrial vacuum sweeper. Ensure you also consider performance parameters such as working width, area coverage and tank capacity before making your purchase:

3. Choose additional features according to your needs
When you purchase an industrial floor sweeper from our shop, you can choose from several cleaning functions and technologies. The following criteria will help ensure that you choose a sweeper scrubber that meets your cleaning needs and delivers long-term efficiency.
- Sweep system for large debris: If you need your machine to handle large debris, the DFS™ (Direct Forward Sweep) sweeping system is the solution. It guides dirt directly and efficiently from the floor into the collection container.
- Direct throw system for fine particles: This system effectively removes fine dirt such as sand and dust, which improves dirt pick-up and prevents clogging, ensuring a consistently high cleaning performance.
- ec-H2O™ technology: Chemical-free ec-H2O™ technology converts water into a cleaning solution through electrolysis. This reduces the need for chemical cleaning agents, saves costs and resources, and protects the environment.
- Spring-mounted scrub deck with flexible squeegee: A floor sweeper with a spring-mounted scrub deck and flexible squeegee is perfect for thorough, even cleaning on all floor types – even in tight warehouse corners.
- Filter system with variable filter shake frequency: This advanced filter system maintains constant airflow and extends filter life. This is especially important in dusty environments or when dealing with fine particles.
