How to find the right electric forklift

Modern electric forklifts are transforming internal logistics through emission-free, quiet and cost-effective operation. The AntOn by Jungheinrich electric forklift trucks deliver everything you need for demanding day-to-day operations: robust technology, easy handling and reliable performance for light to medium-duty transport tasks.

Whether for internal transport, quick loading and unloading of lorries, or nimble manoeuvring in confined spaces: our electric forklifts are versatile and, thanks to lithium-ion technology, swiftly available – all at a price point that makes switching to electric particularly attractive.

At Jungheinrich PROFISHOP, you'll find the AntOn by Jungheinrich battery powered forklifts in two model types with a load capacity of 2500 kg or 3000 kg, featuring two-stage or three-stage telescopic masts. With maximum lift heights of up to 3300 mm or 4800 mm, these electric four-wheel forklifts meet a wide range of warehouse requirements with ease.

Both electric forklift types can be used with forklift attachments and accessories, allowing you to expand their range of applications to meet your needs.

3. Determining load capacity and handling for electric forklifts

The right load capacity for your needs depends on your typical transport requirements.

  • The CBH 2.5 with 2500 kg load capacity handles standard pallets and medium-weight goods effortlessly. It's ideally suited for operations with mixed transport tasks.
  • The CBH 3.0 with 3000 kg load capacity was developed for heavier loads and offers additional reserves for demanding transport tasks.

Both electric forklift trucks feature a side shifter (model-dependent) that enables millimetre-precise lateral positioning of loads. This reduces manoeuvring time and boosts efficiency in tight warehouse spaces.

Learn how to correctly determine forklift load capacity, including residual capacity and load centre of gravity, in our guide “Load capacity for industrial trucks – Dimensioning loads correctly”.

4. Considering mast and lift range for your electric forklift

AntOn by Jungheinrich electric forklift trucks are available with either a two-stage or three-stage telescopic mast. Both mast types feature a well-designed hydraulic hose arrangement and chain positioning for excellent mast visibility.

This increases precision when positioning loads and reduces the risk of accidents during pallet handling. Mechanical hydraulic levers ensure that you maintain precise control of mast functions even with heavy loads.

The mast types differ in lift range and other key parameters that determine each model's application range. Free lift is particularly important, as it indicates how high the forks can rise without increasing the overall mast height. This is essential when passing through low doorways or stacking in areas with limited headroom, such as basement levels.

5. FAQs for electric forklifts

Operators require a valid forklift operator certificate to drive an electric forklift on company premises. This is typically obtained through accredited training providers such as RTITB or ITSSAR. For driving on public roads, a valid driving licence and additional vehicle approvals are required.

Charging time depends on battery capacity and the charger used. The AntOn by Jungheinrich models feature lithium-ion technology, enabling rapid top-up charging even during short breaks. A full charge typically takes 2.1 to 3.5 hours.

The maintenance-free lithium-ion batteries in the CBH models can handle one to two shifts without intermediate charging, depending on usage intensity.

With proper use, these batteries last for years, delivering consistent performance with no memory effect. Their longer lifespan compared to lead-acid batteries makes them particularly economical.

Certain AntOn by Jungheinrich electric forklifts feature waterproof housings rated to IP54, making them suitable for outdoor use. The heated weather protection cabin (on certain models) also ensures comfortable working conditions. However, battery runtime may be reduced at low temperatures.
